Sheryl Hunter is the President of Hunter Business Law, The Entrepreneur’s Law Firm®, which was named to the 2019 INC 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies in America — and the 2019 list of Largest Women-Owned Businesses in Tampa Bay. For over 20 years, Sheryl has worked with hundreds of growth-focused entrepreneurs and their business enterprises, from start-up to exit. She designed her law firm specifically to serve as outsourced general counsel to entrepreneurial clients, as well as investors in early-stage companies. Services include private security offerings and M&A work, as well as common transactional services and commercial litigation. Sheryl is an investor in — and outside general counsel for — Florida Funders, and is on the board of Synapse. She is also the chair of the advisory board for Transitions Candles, a social enterprise of Girls Empowered Mentally for Success.
Sheryl was named in the 2020 Top Lawyer addition of TAMPA Magazines for business law, was awarded the 2016 Businesswoman of the Year for Legal Services by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, and was named in the top 10 people to watch in 2018. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and lives in Tampa with her husband and two children.
By working within varied legal environments over a 25-year career, including a big firm, in-house counsel, and small firms, Sheryl has unique insights into the pros and cons that each offers. She experienced many “trial and error” challenges while growing her law firm from a solo firm in 2013 to what it is today. Sheryl knows how to grow a profitable law firm, and she wants to help other attorneys do the same by creating a collaborative environment that provides the necessary support to thrive, but the liberty to practice law your way. Gabe has been on the journey with his wife of 20+ years, Sheryl Hunter, and serves as the CFO for Liberty Law Suites. He also handles all aspects of maintaining the Liberty Law Suites facilities so that each member can focus on their practice without the worries and responsibilities that come with maintaining an office. Having previously spent 23 years in the mortgage banking and financial services world, and thereafter becoming the CFO of Hunter Business Law, Gabe is well-versed in meeting the needs of Liberty Law Suites and its members.
